How many days until December 23?

How the December 23 count works

The site counts the full days that follow today up to Wednesday, December 23, 2026. Today falls on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, but it is not counted, so the total comes to 49 days.

If this year's December 23 has passed, the clock heads for the next one. On the day it shows today is the date, and from the next day it counts to the following year.

The weeks, months and business day figures are based on the same dates. A business day is any Monday to Friday in the span, and the hours figure starts from midnight at the start of today.

The hour count goes from midnight at the start of today to the very start of December 23. The sleeps figure equals the number of days, since a night is a sleep.

Many people find the days left to December 23 to plan a trip. The day count is fresh.

Planning around December 23

Arranging things is easier once its weekday is known. In 2026 it comes on a Wednesday, and the list of years shows how it moves as each year passes.

The 30, 60, 90 and 100 day list helps with deadlines that run in blocks of time. Payment terms, probation and notice periods often use those lengths, so both earlier and later dates are listed.

The days next to December 23 each have a page. Flip to the day before or after and note the difference.

In a leap year February has 29 days. A span that includes it adds one more day, and the page does the work.

Dates that fall on a weekend often change deadlines and payments, because many services pause on those days.

About the date

December 23 works out as the 357th day of 2026, with 8 days left after it. It appears in Week 52 of 2026, where, by the ISO standard, weeks take Monday as the first day.

People born on December 23 have the sign Capricorn, and the birthstones listed for the month are turquoise, tanzanite and zircon. These are folk traditions, not science, and sources vary a little on the exact dates.

For a birthday countdown, enter the year you were born in the box above. It works out the age you will be on the next December 23.

Leave this tab open and the count recalculates in your own time zone, so it remains correct once midnight comes. You can use share to share the page to someone else.

Dates, weekdays and the calendar

A calendar date settles on a different weekday from one year to the next. A regular year is 52 weeks and a day, so the weekday rolls ahead by one, or two after a leap year.

That is the reason to check the ten year table before fixing any plans. A day that is a Saturday now can show up on a Monday in two years, and what you planned moves too.
