Privacy policy
Last updated October 28, 2026. The short version: we have no accounts, we do not sell data, and most of what the site remembers stays on your device.
What we collect
We do not ask you to create an account. We do not ask for your name, email address or payment details to read a page or use a calculator.
Like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address and the pages you request. It keeps standard server logs for a short time to keep the site running and secure.
Dates you type into a calculator are processed in your browser. They are not sent to our servers, unless you choose to share a link that contains them.
What stays on your device
The site uses your browser's local storage to remember small choices. These include the time zone you picked and any reminders you set.
This information never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing the site data in your browser.
If we offer browser notifications for reminders, they only work after you allow them. You can turn them off the same way.
Advertising and cookies
We plan to show advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technology to show ads, limit how often you see them and measure results.
Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent before ads that use cookies are shown. You can change your choice from the link in the footer at any time.
You can also manage ad personalisation in your Google account settings. Industry opt-out tools, such as those of the Digital Advertising Alliance, also work.
Analytics
We may measure traffic with Google Analytics 4. It counts visits, pages and approximate location, and it helps us see which pages people need.
Analytics cookies are only set where you have agreed, in places that require consent. We do not use analytics to identify you.
You can stop analytics by declining cookies, by using the browser opt-out from Google, or by using a browser that blocks trackers.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete personal data we hold. You may also object to some uses. This includes the UK and EU rules, California law and the privacy laws of other states and Australia.
Because we hold very little personal data, most requests are answered quickly. Write to us through the contact page with the word privacy in the subject.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not knowingly collect it from children under 13.
Third parties and links
Some pages link to sources such as government sites and encyclopedias. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we suggest you read their policies.
Fonts and scripts are served from our own site, so loading a page does not send your address to a font service.
Security and changes
The site is served over HTTPS, and it has no login, so there is no password to steal. We keep what we hold to a minimum for that reason.
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. For a major change, we will say so on the home page.
Children
The site is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. Pages are safe to read, and there is nothing to sign up for.
If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
Data retention
Server logs are kept for a short time and then removed. Analytics data, where used, is kept for the period set in the analytics settings.
Data on your own device stays there until you clear it. We have no copy and no way to read it.
International visitors
The site is read in many countries, and our service providers may process data in other places. Where the law requires, they use approved safeguards.
If you are in the UK, the EU or Australia, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookie choices
If a consent banner appears, you can accept or decline non-essential cookies. Declining does not limit what you can read or calculate.
You can change your choice at any time from the footer link. You can also block cookies in your browser settings.
Blocking cookies may reduce how well adverts match your interests, but it does not change the answers on the site.
Questions people ask
Do you store the dates I type into a calculator?
No. The calculation runs in your browser. A date is only in the address if you copy a link to the result.
Do you use cookies?
Advertising and analytics partners may set cookies once they are active. Where the law requires, we ask for your consent first.
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell personal information, and we do not run accounts or collect your name or email.
How do I clear what the site stores?
Clear site data for howmanytill.com in your browser settings. That removes your saved time zone and any reminders on that device.
