Why the number of Thursdays changes each year

Thanksgiving arrives on a Thursday this year. Counting the Thursdays before it from tomorrow gives 2.
The leap day is the only thing that breaks the one day pattern. After it, Thanksgiving shifts two weekdays, not one.
Time moves the answer. Every Thursday that goes by is crossed off, so tomorrow's figure may be one lower than today's.
Using the count for planning
A list of Thursdays is useful when a task repeats every week. You can spread it out, set a reminder for each one, and see how many chances remain.
