Why the number of Mondays changes each year
Each year is one day longer than 52 weeks. As a result, a date such as July 1 slips forward a weekday from one year to the next.
The weekday of July changes yearly. For now it is a Thursday, so the page finds 34 Mondays ahead of it.
A leap year adds one more day, so the shift is two weekdays instead of one. After a leap year, the pattern of Monday counts jumps further.
A passing Monday reduces the count by one. After the final Monday before July 1, the page shows none left.
Using the count for planning
If you do something every Monday, this count is your remaining supply. It tells you how many more times you can do it before July 1.
Coaches, tutors and caterers who work on Mondays can see their calendar load at a glance. The count shows how many are still free.
Remember that the count leaves out today and July 1 itself. If you want to include either one, add one to the number shown.
Of the seven weekdays, Monday is the one this page follows. Its dates run in a straight line toward July, a week apart.
Share the list with anyone who is also working toward July. A single set of Monday dates keeps everyone on the same page.
A weekly habit is easier to keep when you can see the end. The list above shows how many Mondays remain, so you can pace yourself before July 1.
These counts use the Gregorian calendar and ignore time of day. A Monday counts as passed once the date has changed in your zone.
The count is the same for everyone in the same time zone. Visitors in other zones may see the date move at a different hour.
Many people keep a running tally of Mondays for a rota or a shift pattern. This page does the sum each day, so the figure never goes stale. It is a small habit with a clear payoff.
Holidays can move a plan even when the Monday itself stays put. Look at the notes in the table before you lock in a booking.
The page counts only the Mondays that fall before July, so the day itself is not in the total. That keeps the figure easy to check.

Questions people ask
Is July 1 counted as a Monday?
It makes no difference this year, because July 1 falls on a Thursday. We never count the day itself.
Is today counted?
No. The count starts tomorrow, so a Monday that is already under way is left out. It updates at midnight in your time zone.
Does the count change in another time zone?
Only for a few hours a day. Everyone else sees the same number, and it steps down when your clock passes midnight.
Can a month have 5 Mondays?
It can. Months of 29, 30 or 31 days have room for a fifth Monday, depending on the day they begin. See Mondays in 2028 for the months with five.
How many Mondays are left in 2026?
In what remains of 2026 you will meet 8. The last is Monday, December 28.
