Why the number of Saturdays changes each year
Each year is one day longer than 52 weeks. As a result, a date such as September 1 slips forward a weekday from one year to the next.
Look at the day September 1 falls on: a Wednesday. Given that and today's date, the number of Saturdays left is 43.
In a leap year the calendar gains a day in February. Dates after it then land two weekdays later than in the previous year.
Because the window starts tomorrow, the answer moves as days pass. Every Saturday that slips behind us takes one off the total.
Using the count for planning
Reminders work best when they are tied to real dates. The Saturday list gives you each one, in order, up to September 1.
Households can use the number to split chores. Workplaces can use it to set targets for each Saturday until September 1.
The total excludes today and the day of September 1. Add one for each of those you want counted, if it is a Saturday.
Because a Saturday comes round only once a week, the number left before September 1 is a fair measure of time. Few other counts are as simple.
Share the list with anyone who is also working toward September. A single set of Saturday dates keeps everyone on the same page.
Share the page with a partner or a team. Everyone sees the same number of Saturdays left, and nobody has to do the sums.
Treat the count as a guide. Plans change, and a Saturday may be lost to travel, illness or a public holiday.
When September 1 arrives, the page switches to the next one. You can keep using it all year without changing the link.
People often count Saturdays for pay periods, school terms and gym plans. The same method works for any repeating weekday you care about. Share it so others can plan too.
A Saturday is the same length everywhere, but the date it falls on depends on your time zone. The page uses your own clock after it loads.
A count of Saturdays is a plain fact, but it shapes decisions about leave, savings and study time. Check it whenever the plan changes.
Planning around the Saturdays
Saturday, August 28 is the last Saturday before September.
Paydays before September
Paid every Saturday? Tell the planner when your next one is, and it will count the paydays before September 1.
Check your employer's calendar. Some move paydays when they fall on a holiday.
The same count in other years
The pattern across years is uneven. Check the row for your year to see where this count sits.
Weekday shown is the day September falls on. See September in the next 10 years.
Return tomorrow and the list will have changed. It always shows the Saturdays that are still to come before September 1.
Questions people ask
Is September 1 counted as a Saturday?
It makes no difference this year, because September 1 falls on a Wednesday. We never count the day itself.
Is today counted?
Today is skipped. The first Saturday we can count is one that starts tomorrow or later, and the figure changes at midnight.
Does the count change in another time zone?
Mostly no. The only gap is around midnight, when one zone has started a new day and another has not.
Can a month have 5 Saturdays?
It can happen in any month with 29 days or more, depending on the start day. See Saturdays in 2028 for the months with five.
How many Saturdays are left in 2026?
8 are left in 2026. You will see the last on Saturday, December 26.
