How we count the Tuesdays
A simple rule drives this page. Count each Tuesday that comes after Wednesday, November 4, 2026 and ends before October 1, and do not count anything else.
Everyone counts differently. Some use days, some use sleeps, and some use Tuesdays, which is what this page does for October.
The total is 47 Tuesdays, running from Tuesday, November 10 to Tuesday, September 28. After that, October arrives before another Tuesday can.

Why the number of Tuesdays changes each year
Seven does not go into 365 cleanly. The remainder of one pushes a fixed date forward a weekday each year, and that is why counts change.
Look at the day October 1 falls on: a Friday. Given that and today's date, the number of Tuesdays left is 47.
The 29th of February shakes up the rhythm. A date that moved one weekday last year may move two this time.
The total is live, not fixed. A Tuesday that has gone by is removed, and by the eve of October 1 the count shows zero.
Using the count for planning
If you do something every Tuesday, this count is your remaining supply. It tells you how many more times you can do it before October 1.
For a promotion, a handover or a weekly call, the Tuesday count shows how many turns remain before October 1.
Check the edges before you rely on the total. Today and October 1 are left out, and each can add one if it is a Tuesday.
Every weekday carries its own habits. A Tuesday is when plans tend to firm up before October, so each remaining one matters a little more.
When time is short, treat the last two Tuesdays as a buffer. Plan the main work earlier so that a slip does not matter.
Think about which Tuesdays are already taken. Holidays, trips and events can remove some, so the true number may be smaller.
If you start counting from a different day, the total can change by one. The rule here is to begin tomorrow.
A good use of this number is a reminder. Pick a Tuesday, set a calendar alert, and let the page do the counting.
Parents, carers and coaches who plan around a Tuesday find the countdown useful. It turns a vague wait into a number you can write down. It takes a few seconds to read.
You can compare this page with the ones for other weekdays. Each uses the same rules, so the numbers fit together without gaps.
The page counts only the Tuesdays that fall before October, so the day itself is not in the total. That keeps the figure easy to check.
Planning around the Tuesdays
Tuesday, September 28 is the last Tuesday before October.
Paydays before October
Salary on Tuesdays? Pick your next payday and a cycle, and the planner does the rest.
Check your employer's calendar. Some move paydays when they fall on a holiday.
The same count in other years
Here is the same question for other years. The figure moves as the weekday of October 1 shifts, so compare with care.
Weekday shown is the day October falls on. See October in the next 10 years.
Return tomorrow and the list will have changed. It always shows the Tuesdays that are still to come before October 1.
Questions people ask
Is October 1 counted as a Tuesday?
It makes no difference this year, because October 1 falls on a Friday. We never count the day itself.
Is today counted?
We do not count today. A Tuesday that has already started is not in the total, and it rolls over at local midnight.
Does the count change in another time zone?
It can. At the moment the date changes in your zone, the count steps down, which happens at different times around the world.
Can a month have 5 Tuesdays?
It can. Months of 29, 30 or 31 days have room for a fifth Tuesday, depending on the day they begin. See Tuesdays in 2028 for the months with five.
How many Tuesdays are left in 2026?
That makes 8 for the rest of 2026, the last being Tuesday, December 29.
