Why the number of Saturdays changes each year
If a year were exactly 364 days, dates would never change weekday. The 365th day nudges every date forward by one.
Where June 1 sits in the week matters. On a Tuesday it leaves room for 30 Saturdays, counted from tomorrow.
A leap year adds one more day, so the shift is two weekdays instead of one. After a leap year, the pattern of Saturday counts jumps further.
Check today and again later and the count will not match. Whenever a Saturday is over, it is taken off the list.
Using the count for planning
A list of Saturdays is useful when a task repeats every week. You can spread it out, set a reminder for each one, and see how many chances remain.
Event planners count Saturdays to space out tasks before June 1. Shoppers count them to decide when to buy.
Edge days are excluded on purpose. If today or June 1 is a Saturday and counts for you, simply add one for each.
For many people a Saturday is a fixed point in the week. Counting those fixed points before June 1 gives a plan with a clear rhythm.
Leave the final Saturday free if you can. Things tend to go wrong near June, and a spare Saturday is a cheap form of insurance.
Savers like this count. Put a fixed amount aside each Saturday, and the total by June 1 is easy to work out.
If the count reaches zero, the page tells you so. After that it looks ahead to the next occurrence of June 1.
When June 1 arrives, the page switches to the next one. You can keep using it all year without changing the link.
Many people keep a running tally of Saturdays for a rota or a shift pattern. This page does the sum each day, so the figure never goes stale. It is a small habit with a clear payoff.
If you are unsure about a boundary, check the first and last dates in the list. They show exactly where the count begins and ends.
Weekday counts suit plans that skip the weekend, such as shifts, lessons and deliveries. Pick the Saturday that fits your routine and track it here.

Nothing here needs to be updated by hand. The count of Saturdays before June moves along with the calendar.
Questions people ask
Is June 1 counted as a Saturday?
It makes no difference this year, because June 1 falls on a Tuesday. We never count the day itself.
Is today counted?
No. The count starts tomorrow, so a Saturday that is already under way is left out. It updates at midnight in your time zone.
Does the count change in another time zone?
Slightly. The count follows your local calendar day, so two readers in far apart zones may see numbers a day apart.
Can a month have 5 Saturdays?
Yes. Any month with 29 or more days can have five, depending on the weekday it starts on. See Saturdays in 2028 for the months with five.
How many Saturdays are left in 2026?
From today, 8 remain in 2026. The last is on Saturday, December 26.
